Trouble kindly sent an ecard that reminding me how I was not in Maine this past month. Thanks, dude.
Here’s how important you guys are, warranting giving up THIS for YOU:
The morning view from the sailboat dock, probably about 6am. The wildlife comes out at the crack of dawn, and watching the lake come alive to the rising sun is one of life’s greatest joys.
The view down the lake. The island is part of Camp. We all grow up camping out there and getting scared by the older cousins in the middle of the night.
Party central, with the Main Cabin to the right, where we spend evenings all together watching the sun go down. The grill house to the left is world’s best charcoal grill! The other cabins are among the family cabins where we all stay.
My favorite cabin, where I’ll be staying this August: here’s Puck keeping an eye on the cove which is just behind the cabin. That’s my morning coffee!
This is my daughter Gaby and one of her little catches back when she was about ten. When the larger and tastier white perch jump in schools, it’s breakfast time!
Mom canoeing. The old rowboat behind her has been in Camp since the 1920s — it was originally a sailboat that my grandparents used. In the background you can see the other docks and boats.

You guys were worth it!
Anyway, Terry and I are going to New Orleans for her birthday next month, then we’ll get a solid week in Camp. before school starts. What are your vacation plans?
No vacation plans– Just at home, wishing I was still at Stanford 🙁
Jenny! Jenny! I’m sorry I missed your comment. Nice to hear from you, although I do hope you found something fun to do over the summer. Back at school now, anyway. How are you?
